Severn’s Regional F2 Teaching Programme was established in 2007, and encourages foundation trainees to experience training as part of the Foundation School. The regional teaching programme enables us to use the faculty members who are keen to deliver proven educational material as required by the Foundation Curriculum.
The Regional programme also offers an opportunity for trainees to network, which has always been recognised as an important part of professional development. The programme utilises days from the study leave allocation and places must be booked in advance.
The programme culminates with a Trainee Presentation Day offering foundation trainees at F1 and F2 level the opportunity to present their work and receive regional recognition. Presentation Day Flyer Click here to read trainee feedback from the Regional Teaching.
Each PGME department is responsible for collecting attendee names for the specific teaching sessions. The attendance list is then forwarded to the relevant PGME manager who is hosting the module. The attendee list of names for each teaching module should be sent to the teaching module venue provider 2 weeks prior to the teaching date to allow for administrative purposes. Vacant places can then be offered out to Trusts with some degree of notice.
All Foundation 2 doctors are expected to attend 70% of the teaching modules. Attendance is monitored by PGME departments.
Failure to attend 70% or more may result in that trainee not being signed off for the F2 year.
